Senior police officers in Aswa river region reshuffled

Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Eight senior police officers from Aswa River and the Northern Kyoga regions have been reshuffled.

The officers reshuffled are from the ranks of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Superintendent of Police (SP) and Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).

In the reshuffle, SSP Nachuha Damali from the Counter Terrorism (CT) takes over as the Regional Police Commander (RPC), Aswa River Region, SP Ivan Daki Apollo from course starts duty as the District Police Commander (DPC) Gulu, while SP Dickens Bindeeba, the former DPC has been taken to the police headquarters at the Joint Operations Command (JOC).

The others include; SP Hadson Erick Ocen from Aswa taking over as Police Relations Officer (PRO) for West Nile region, while ASP Patrick Jimmy Okema, the former Public Relations Officer (PRO) for Aswa has been taken to North Kyoga as PRO.

ASP John Bosco Nyangkol, the former In-charge of Gulu Central Police Station takes over as OC station Kinoni police in Lwengo district.

ASP David Mudong Ongom who was PRO East Kyoga will also take over as PRO Aswa River Region.

The out-going Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson told Uganda Radio Network (URN) on Friday that the reshuffle which takes immediate effect was announced on Thursday evening.

The reshuffle in Aswa River Region comes barely three months following the reshuffle of senior police officers in January this year.

The previous reshuffle in the region was linked to the failure by the top police officers to arrest Samuel Odonga Otto, the out-going Aruu County Member of Parliament for defying the Coronavirus disease guidelines during his campaign trail in Pader district.
