Three weeks ago, Kiplimo and Joshua Cheptegei dominated the Seville  IAAF Cross Country Permit meeting. Cheptegei won the race, followed by Kiplimo as they edged out arch-rival  Selemon Barega from Ethiopia who had won the two previous races.

Kiplimo and Cheptegei missed the Uganda national cross country championships held in Jinja on Saturday, which means new champions emerged.
Thomas Ayeko to the men senior title in 28:25.3 while Kiplimo’s crown was taken by Victor Kiplangat in 22:48.8.

The Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF) will use the event to select the national cross country team to represent Uganda at the 5th edition of the Africa Cross Country Championships due March 17, 2018 in Algeria.
