Three people hacked to death in Masaka

Masaka, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Three people have been confirmed dead following an attack by unknown assailants who raided Ssetaala village in Kimaanya-Kabonera division, Masaka city last night. One other person survived the attack with severe injuries.

Masaka Regional Police Spokesperson Muhammad Nsubuga says that the deceased have been identified as Sulaiman Kakooza, 56, Kizza Luswa, 50, and Dan Kiyimba, 38. He adds that the survivor identified as Ronald Ssebyoto, 25, is now admitted at Masaka Regional Referral Hospital.

He adds that the unknown killers mainly use pangas and other blunt objects to kill victims of their attacks. He noted that their motive is yet to be established because they do not take their victims property.

Vincent Ssewanja, the Ssetaala LCI chairman appealed to the police to hunt down killers to save other people’s lives.  Masaka Regional Police Commander Paul Kole also appealed to the residents to remain calm as the police investigate the murders.
