Pan-African youths target development & empowerment

Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | In a bid to address pressing issues concerning Africa’s development and the empowerment of its youth, the African Youth Commission, alongside its partners, has convened the annual Pan-African Youth Conference.

Organized annually by the African Youth Commission and its partners, this conference serves as a nexus for youth engagement and dialogue on matters of significance to the continent’s future.

Rebecca Kadaga, the Minister of East Africa Community Affairs, demonstrated her commitment to youth empowerment by sponsoring a delegation to the 4th Pan-African Youth Conference held in Bomas, Nairobi, Kenya. Notably, 60% of the sponsored participants were female, highlighting efforts to ensure gender inclusivity in the discourse.

On March 23, Kadaga officially flagged off the youth delegation, enabling them to participate in the conference’s deliberations. Her sponsorship provided a valuable opportunity for young voices to be heard and for meaningful exchanges to take place among participants.

The conference facilitated by Kadaga’s office offered a platform for youth to articulate their concerns, exchange ideas, and engage with peers and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. Through interactive sessions and workshops, participants explored avenues for collaboration and action towards advancing youth development agendas across Africa.
