While opening a Shs3bn fruit factory in Isingiro district that aims to produce 31500 litres packaged in 350 milliliter bottles, President Museveni encouraged Ugandans to engage in modern profit oriented agriculture to improve family incomes. While addressing hundreds of people at Citizens High School grounds in Kabarebere, Museveni said it is not enough for the government to provide infrastructure and social services, citizens should support campaigns to defeat household poverty. The factory is owned by Mbarara businessman Nathan Karema. The businessman said his factory employs 106 people, 50% university graduates and 40% from vocational training institutions. Museveni also said roads in the area will be tarmacked.
