Iganga group selling stolen mosquito nets to fishermen arrested

The Uganda Health Monitoring Unit on June 4 and 6 captured six people in Iganga district involved in selling mosquito nets meant for free distribution.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango, the operation was initiated after it was discovered that government had lost several nets. The nets, after being stolen, are used for making fish cages.

The suspects will be charged with abuse of office and being in position of stolen property.

During the operation, six suspects led by Abu Magumba, a transporter were nabbed. Others are Hakim Mukisa of Bukanga Health Center III, Yonna Wasota, Justine Naigaga and Rose Nabirye and Clement Walujo.
