Emirates eyes bigger brand in Uganda

Kampala, Uganda | JULIUS BUSINGE |  Emirates Airlines is focusing on making its brand in Uganda more vibrant in an effort to woo more travelers to its planes.

Speaking to journalists in Kampala on Oct. 12, the Airline’s Country Manager for Uganda, Puneet Kohli said that they recently introduced new products including, new warm blankets made from recycled plastic bottles (100%) which is available in economy class on all long – haul Emirates flights. This is in addition to the 2016 amenity kits introduced to its economy class travelers. The Airline’s economy class cabins are equipped with one of the largest in-seat screens with 13.3 inches and more than 2,500 channels of on-demand entertainment system – ice digital widescreen.

“As Emirates we are able to offer Ugandans real global connectivity with just one convenient stop at our modern hub in Dubai,” Kohli said.

He added that they are introducing a series of new cabin products and enhancements in 2017 for both its A380 and Boeing 777 fleet.

The Airline offers its services through a global network that extends to 156 destinations in 84 countries.

Going forward, Kohli said that they are mapping key areas of investment in their strategy in line with the near-term anticipated economic boom in Uganda supported by oil and gas activities.

Emirates Airline is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and is a subsidiary of The Emirates Group, which is wholly owned by the government of Dubai’s Investment Corporation of Dubai.
