Jinja, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | The Police in Kiira region have arrested a 28-year-old woman, Rose Musiya, for allegedly killing her two children.
It is alleged that Musiya, a resident of Buwagi cell in Northern Division, Jinja City killed her children in an act of ritual sacrifice and buried one of the children in the house.
The child’s father, Magada Kyagulanyi, a casual labourer from Bukunjja, in Buikwe district says that he returned home on Sunday and Musiya informed him of how their children had been missing for the past two days.
Kyagulanyi says that, when police arrived at their home, Musiya pretended to be possessed by demons, but when she was put to task, she confessed to having committed the crime.
The Jinja North Deputy Resident City Commissioner, Lydia Karemera says that detectives have inspected the crime scene.
Karemera adds that Musiya will also have to first undergo a mentalmedical checkup.
