VIDEO: UMEME continued their nationwide operation to halt illegal connections and power theft by raiding Bwaise this week. The operation in Bwaise, left many areas in the Kampala suburb in darkness following several shut downs by power distribution company UMEME, as they intensified their operation to crackdown on power theft and illegal connections. These vices according to UMEME cause an annual loss of 100 billion shillings annually. The operation is part of a nationwide campaign to stop illegal power connections in the country to save money, but also for safety of the public.
