Celebrations to mark this year’s International Labour Day will be held in Tororo District at St Peter’s College Tororo. The Chief Guest for the function is expected to be President Yoweri Museveni.
The theme for this year’s celebrations is “Skilling Ugandans for increased Labour Productivity: A shared responsibility.”
Labour Day is an annual holiday to celebrate the achievements of workers around the world. The day has its origins in the labour union movement, specifically the eight-hour day movement, which advocated eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight hours for rest.
