THIS WEEK: New IGP makes reshuffles in the police

Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Just days after he was named new Inspector General of Police, Martin Okoth Ochola made changes in the police  force redeploying over 88 officers to different posts.

Among those redeployed is former Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango was returned to this position which he last held in 2016.

Now, he replaces Luke Oweyesigire who has been acting Public Relations Officer.

Others on the reshuffle list are Geoffrey Nkaheebwa formerly DPC Kabarole has been posted to Kamuli as DPC, Jaffar Magezi is new DPC Mbarara, Alfonse Ojangole is DPC Kamuli and Edirisa Kyeyune is DPC Kabalagala.

Meanwhile OKoth Ochola and his Deputy Sabiti Muzeeyi in addition to new Security Minister Gen. Elly Tumwine were vetted and confirmed by parliament’s appointments committee chaired by Speaker Rebecca Kadaga on March.07.
