Entebbe, Uganda | PHILLIP CORRY | The heat and tempo reached their peak on Saturday as the Stanbic Bank Match Play Challenge reached the quarterfinals in this pairs tournament.
Last year’s runners-up Henry Nsubuga and Jonathan Lukyamuzi overcame Entebbe Club members Paul Nsereko and Patrick Mugisha Muntu 4 and 2 to move into the last 16 in this exciting pairs tournament.
Club trustee Tony Kisadha and Richard Mwami, who were 2024 finalists, beat Spencer Sabiiti and Craig Muwanguzi 3 and 2.
The Stanbic Bank Match Play Challenge has been bankrolled by the leading bank since 2024, with previous winners being 2024 winners Lillian Koowe and Joyce Kisembo, while last year’s winners were Steven Kitamirike and Charles Kabunga.
The quarter-finals will swing into action on June 6, at the par-71, lake-side golf facility.
