Nakivubo Blue PS not closed

By Aloysious Kasoma

The administration of the Nakivubo Blue Primary School has rubbished allegations that the school was closed down by Kampala Capital City Authority.

Lwanga Kizza the headmaster of the more than 50 years old school confirmed to The Independent that what is circulating in the media about the school is false.

“I also heard that on the radio about the closure and I called KCCA and the Ministry of education but it is not true,” he said.

Lwanga said that such unverified information bothers the common man and lives the parents in panic and confusion.

Lwanga assured The Independent that last week the school received new teachers and furniture from KCCA and it was surprising to learn in the media that they have closed the school.

“KCCA told me to come and pick 38 desks and also allocated four new teachers” he said while showing the new desks received from KCCA.

According to KCCA spokesperson Peter Kaujju, the information about Nakivubo Blue Primary School is not true but that such measures were being considered for other schools.

Nakivubo Blue has over 1100 students and the school is currently under renovation. It has been in the media since 2008 over the possible relocation.
