Ministry to unveil new policy for Tertiary Institutions

The executive secretary, education ministry, Dr.Charles Akor said that government is coming up with   policies to support private universities.

Speaking at the 2nd graduation of Cavendish University, Dr.Charles said the policies are intended to boost research in universities to produce quality products for the job market. He advised the graduates to improve on their skills if they are to compete in the fast growing market.


He said: “We have to keep looking for ways to  be better our universities, we are seeking to break new grounds  in practical oriented line…to deepen students’  experience of industrial innovation as  they learn.”

The acting chancellor of the university, David Game and the vice chancellor, Dr. Shaba Chirwa urge government t and development partners to put more emphasis on higher education.

Game said, “It goes without say that Higher education plays a fundamental role in economic and ,  political  advancement of nations provides economic reforms core ingredients  to  boost academic and technical competence  as well as  overall competence at individual and regional international levels,”

The university passed out 360 graduates with certificates, diplomas, degrees and masters in the fields of public relations and media management, business administration, NGO management, international relations among others.
