Nominees for the 4th iKON Awards revealed

Kampala, Uganda | NEWS CORRESPONDENT | The full list of the 4th edition of iKON Awards Nominees have been announced.

A total of 121 films from 26 categories have been selected for voting. The categories also comprise 24 nominations from across Africa, featuring filmmakers’ dialogue on cross-border collaboration.

At the launch Saturday, Humphrey Nabimanya, Founder of iKON Awards, reemphasised the importance of working together: “Collaboration is essential to building a strong film industry because no single filmmaker can tell Africa’s stories alone,” he said.

The 4th edition of iKON Awards will be held on 12 December 2026, at Serena Hotel, Kampala, under the theme ‘Beyond Border’, which aims to foster cross-border partnerships.

The iKON Awards are an annual celebration of creativity, excellence, and innovation in Uganda’s film and television sector. The awards honour and recognise exceptional talent, projects, and contributions that elevate the creative industry both locally and internationally.
