Guard robs Indian businessman of Sh8 million

Guard put Indian businessman on gun point

Kabale, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | A private guard from Accurate Security Company Limited is on the run after allegedly robbing Sh8 million from an Indian businessman he was guarding.   The suspect has been identified as Amos Ecidu.

He is wanted for robbing Indian businessman, Shintole Nisnant at gunpoint in Makanga village, Central Division in, Kabale municipality around 9:30 pm on Friday night. Nisnant, who manages the Tiptop bakery Kabale branch, says that after retiring from work, Ecidu together with an unidentified man placed him at gunpoint and ordered him to surrender all the money on him.

The suspects allegedly ordered him to open the safe and give them money or else they shoot him dead. According to Nisnant, he surrendered Shillings 8 million to the suspects in order to save his life.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesperson, says that Ecidu abandoned his firearms before fleeing off with his accomplice. Maate says that efforts to trace the suspects to face charges of aggravated robbery are underway.  Kabale Central Police Station has entered a case of aggravated robbery vide file number SD 85/15/07/2022.
