CMI protests Kitata bail application

Kampala, Uganda | GODFREY SSALI | Boda-Boda 2010 patron Abdalla Kitatta has been sent back to Makindye Millitary barracks until the May 07, 2018 after the General Court Martial failed to pronounce itself on his bail application after the state opposed his release .

State Prosecutor Captain Ambrose Baguma presented to court an affidavit sworn by a Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence) (CMI) investigator Maj. Dennis Katambuka stating that there are high chances that Kitatta will interfere with witnesses once released on bail, since their particulars are already known to him.

Maj. Katambuka also stated that Kitatta produced no substantial surities in court because even his biological father Hajji Muhammad Nabugoba could not tell how old his son is .

For this matter, Maj. Katambuka concluded that Kitata may fail to turn up in court for trial yet he is charged with grave offenses.

Kitata faces five counts of being in unlawful possession of an SMG gun, 3 pistols and 50 rounds of live ammunition that prosecution states were found on him on January 18, 2018 at Vine hotel in Wakaliga.
