‘Bishop’ Musinguzi survives accident on way to drop school children

Fort Portal, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | An accident in Queen Elizabeth National Park along the Kikorongo – Katunguru Road in Katwe Kabatoro Division has critically injured three people. The Monday accident involved a motor vehicle with registration number UAM 051/Q, a blue Toyota Hilux Double Cabin.

It was driven by “Bishop” Ibrahim Musinguzi, a member of the Pentecostal Church in Fort Portal Tourism City. He was taking his two children back to school when the incident occurred. The vehicle lost control and veered off the road within Queen Elizabeth National Park, resulting in injuries to all three occupants.

The injured individuals have been identified as Racheal Kabetebezi, 19 years old, and another person known only as Killion. Both are students at one of the neighboring schools in Rubirizi District. SP Nelson Tumushiime, the Rwenzori East Police Spokesperson, has confirmed the incident.

He stated that the injured have been promptly taken to healthcare facilities for treatment, and the police have initiated investigations into the accident. Tumushiime emphasized that traffic police have intensified their patrols to ensure strict adherence to traffic regulations, especially during the period when children are returning to school.

This is in an effort to enhance road safety.
