Days after the murder of Maj. Sheikh Muhammad Kiggundu on Nov.26, the police arrested Sheikh Yahya Mwanje, the acting Tabliq Sect leader at Nakasero Mosque for interrogation in connection with the death of the former. Maj Kiggundu was shot dead together with his body guard at Masanafu, a Kampala suburb.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Emilian Kayima said six suspects have so far been arrested, with the latest being two Boda Boda (motorcycle) riders at the Old Taxi Park in Kampala.
The duo are suspected of having used their motorcycles to transport assassins to the crime scene and whisking them away after the incident.
Meanwhile, trial of Sheikhs suspected to having been involved in shooting Muslim clerics in a similar manner continues in court.
