The Justice Catherine Bamugemeriere led commission of inquiry into land issues has changed venue from Kampala to Hoima where hearings are being conducted for a week. This is the fourth time, the commissioners are moving out of the city with the previous ones being held in Jinja, Wakiso and Luweero.

The commission which is among others probing the effectiveness of land laws, issues of land acquisition, public administration of land and reservation of protected areas such wetlands and national parks has interviewed several individuals with the recent one being Catherine Mulinde former commissioner land administration in the Ministry of Lands who is said to have sold off part of the land housing the public cemetery in Bakasa in Wakiso district.
