Mbale, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT |  The Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, has pledged her support for the establishment of a public university in Masabaland.

Among emphasized her commitment to collaborating closely with the Bamasaba cultural leadership, asserting that a public university in Bugisu would greatly benefit many youths who may have discontinued their education but aspire to obtain degrees.

Among conveyed this message through Mbale District Woman MP Miriam Mukhaye during the Easter Monday prayer breakfast held at the Inzu Ya Masaba headquarters at Malukhu in Mbale city.

She expressed her appreciation for the Bagisu people and highlighted the shared city and boundaries with Teso.

Furthermore, the Speaker requested the Inzu Ya Masaba cultural institution to assemble a delegation and personally meet her at the Parliament of Uganda. This meeting aims to discuss various issues that require attention to foster the desired development of Masabaland.
