Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Phaneroo Ministries International is set to hold the fifth edition of its Global Inter-University Conference (GIC) on November 14, bringing together students from universities and other institutions of higher learning for a day of spiritual, leadership and career-focused activities.
The conference, scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at Phaneroo Grounds in Naguru, Kampala, will bring together students from universities, technical colleges, vocational schools and specialised training institutions, according to the organisers.
Now in its fifth year, the conference has become one of Phaneroo’s platforms for engaging young people through religious teaching, personal development and leadership training.
The programme will include preaching, worship, counselling, networking and career-related activities, with organisers also planning a student talent showcase featuring music, dance and drama.
Apostle Grace Lubega, the vision bearer of Phaneroo Ministries, said the conference is intended to equip young people beyond their academic training.
“We believe that this generation carries tremendous potential to transform nations,” said Apostle Grace Lubega, Vision Bearer of Phaneroo Ministries, at last year’s conference.
“The Global Inter-University Conference exists to raise young people who are spiritually grounded, intellectually equipped, and prepared to lead with excellence in every sphere of society.”
The 2026 programme will feature Lubega alongside leadership coach and author Dr Cindy Trimm and Apostle Felix Okoh of House of Treasures Ministries in Johannesburg.
Zambian gospel musician Pompi is also scheduled to perform, alongside Ugandan gospel ministers.
The organisers say the conference will combine its religious programme with activities intended to address some of the practical concerns facing students as they prepare for employment and professional life.
Participants will have access to counselling and opportunities to interact with corporate organisations through partnerships established by Phaneroo.
The talent showcase is expected to provide another platform for students to present work in music, dance and drama, with prizes planned for outstanding performances.
Phaneroo says previous editions of the conference have attracted young people from institutions of higher learning and generated testimonies from attendees relating to healing, academic and financial breakthroughs and renewed hope.
Such claims are based on accounts shared by participants and the organisers’ descriptions of previous editions.
The conference comes at a time when universities and other tertiary institutions are increasingly becoming important spaces for engagement around young people’s spiritual, social and professional lives.
For religious organisations, student-focused gatherings also provide an avenue to combine faith-based teaching with discussions about leadership, careers and personal development.
Beyond the programme itself, the organisers say security arrangements have been made for the event and that the necessary permissions from relevant authorities have been obtained.
Phaneroo Ministries International says it is working with security agencies and other partners to provide security at the venue.
