Pallisa RDC threatens to dismiss teachers who snub Covid-19 vaccination

Covid-19 vaccination of teachers is ongoing in Pallisa district.

Pallisa, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | The Pallisa Deputy RDC Magidu Dhikusooka, who doubles as the chairperson district Covid-19 taskforce has warned that teachers who dodge the ongoing vaccination against Covid-19 will be terminated from service.

The RDC issued the warning today while addressing headteachers of both government and private primary and secondary schools during a meeting that was held at the district headquarters.

Dhikusooka’s warning follows the low turn up of teachers in the ongoing vaccination exercise taking place in Pallisa.

Dr Godfrey Mulekwa, the district health officer while confirming receipt of Sinovac vaccines for teachers, listed the vaccination venues as Kalaki primary school for Pallisa county,  Apopong primary school for Gogonyo, Agurur primary school for Kibaale county and Pasia primary school for Agule county.

The RDC directed all headteachers in the district to submit to his office all names of teachers who have snubbed the vaccination, for their termination to be effected.
