Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | The Omukama of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom, Dr. Solomon Gafabusa Rukirabasaija Igura is happy with the appointment of Robinah Nabbanja as the new Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni appointed Nabbanja who was the outgoing Minister of Health in-charge of General Duties as Prime minister of Uganda.

Andrew Byakugata, the Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Prime Minister in an interview with Uganda Radio Network on Wednesday explains that Nabbanja’s appointment is a big achievement for Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom and the entire people of Bunyoro sub region adding that the King is appreciative.

He says in the history of the NRM government, Bunyoro region had never attained such a position in government, saying the appointment of Nabbanja is going to be good ground for network between the Kingdom and government since now they have their own daughter in one of the big offices in the country.

According to Byakutaga, awarding Bunyoro this position means the President is appreciating the people of Bunyoro for having taken a wise decision by voting for the NRM government not only in the 2021 general elections but also during previous elections.

Byakutaga however wants Nabbanja upon assuming office, to immediately address the issue of Bunyoro Public University that has for long been ignored by the government, address the escalating cases of land grabbing, the return of the Kingdom assets as well as lobbying for other bigger positions in government to be taken over by other Banyoro.
