Bobi in Lira

Lira, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | The National Unity Party President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu has rallied the people of Lango to embrace unity as bait for ousting the National Resistance Movement leadership under President Yoweri Museveni.

Kyagulanyi accused the current regime of intentionally creating disunity and compromising leaders and called on the people of Lango to become united and embrace his People Power outfit as a ray of hope for Ugandans.

He was addressing the people of Lango during his countrywide tour to raise grassroots support and officially open the party offices in Junior Quarters, Lira City West Division.

Kyagulanyi further explained that the People Power Movement is not limited to a political party but rather anyone who wants to see a change in the leadership of the country. He explained that his movement has made efforts to work with other political parties but observed that many of them were infiltrated by the NRM.

Kilak South Member of Parliament Gilbert Olanya, who accompanied Kyagulanyi to Lira tasked Northern Uganda to embrace the People Power Movement saying it’s the only chance Ugandans have to become free.

Olanya cited the current situation in Apaa for which he accused President Museveni of facilitating land grabbing from Northern Uganda.

However, Walter Ongom, a resident of Lira City advised Kyagulanyi to rid his team of hooligans saying their actions attract the attention of security.
