New York, USA | Xinhua | Brooklyn fell 101-98 at home to the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday to gift the Miami Heat within one and a half games of the Nets for fifth in the Eastern Conference.

76ers center Joel Embiid collected 37 points and 13 rebounds. James Harden added 29 points in his first game in Brooklyn since he was traded to the 76ers by the Nets last year.

Harden, who was traded at his own request, said, “I don’t get caught up in homecomings or the outside distractions. I think our focus was just to come here and win a game and we did a good job of that tonight.”

Although LeBron James was sidelined for a sore ankle, the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Golden State Warriors 109-103 to snap their three-game skid.

Dennis Schroder led the Lakers with 26 points. Rui Hachimura added 16 and the new recruit D’Angelo Russell got 15 with five rebounds and six assists.

The Warriors also missed injured Stephen Curry.

In Sacramento, De’Aaron Fox scored 36 points, including 14 in overtime, to help the Kings tame the Dallas Mavericks 133-128.

Also on Saturday, the Miami Heat upset the Orlando Magic 107-103 in overtime, and the Denver Nuggets defeated the Charlotte Hornets 119-105.
