Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze, a Democratic Party stalwart has vowed to lead a reform process in the party aimed at rebranding the party. The MP, who doubles as the party’s Vice President for the Buganda region said she plans to re-strategise and mobilise members for the 2021 elections.  She was briefly arrested last week after she organized a conference in Nsambya themed ‘making DP great again’. DP President Nobert Mao opposed the event saying it was against the party constitution, police subsequently arrested her saying the conference was illegal. Nambooze listed six action points to drive her agenda; reforms in the constitution, restoring party organs, establishing a conflict resolution committee and the spirit of truth of justice, rebranding the party, and how to regain public trust.
