Former Busongora South MP joins NUP

Kyagulanyi welcomed the new converts.

Kasese, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | The former Busongora South Member of Parliament in Kasese district, Jackson Mbaju Kathika has joined the National Unity Platform-NUP party.

Mbaju who was a staunch member of the Forum for Democratic Change-FDC contested as an independent candidate in the parliamentary elections after he was defeated in the FDC primaries.

Mbaju and 50 other people from different political parties including the National Resistance Movement-NRM party were received on Monday by the former NUP presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi at the party headquarters in Kamwokya.

He revealed that he and the other new converts shall start serious mobilization for NUP in Kasese district.

Fatuma Kamama Katembo, the former NUP flag bearer for the Kasese Woman MP seat said that Mbaju’s action is proof that NUP has support outside Kampala.

Kyagulanyi said that the new converts especially from the NRM party have realized that the party has lost track.
