Arua, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT |  The Madi and West Nile Anglican Diocese Bishop Charles Collins Andaku has urged Christians to desist from uncalled ‘dressing competitions’ as they celebrate Christmas.

He noted that many Christians have abandoned the true meaning of Christmas, as a celebration of the Birth of Jesus Christ and turned the celebration into a merrymaking competition which instead drives families into anxiety.

This was part of his Christmas message shared at Emmanuel Cathedral, Mvara in Arua City on Thursday,

Meanwhile, Bishop Sabino Ocan Odoki of the Arua Catholic Diocese advised Christians to not celebrate Christmas recklessly but advised them to celebrate Christmas with their family members because the birth of Jesus Christ was meant to unite the world.

Christmas, which is an annual Christian festival, celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ.
