Former opposition FDC presidential flag bearer Kizza Besigye has appeared for his bail hearing at the High Court in Kampala today.

Besigye, charged with treason, has been incarcerated at Luzira prison since May just before president elect Yoweri Museveni was sworn-in.

Besigye was arrested following a footage that made rounds on social media showing him being sworn-in as president in the aftermath of the February general elections.

Traffic has been interrupted in the city in the morning rush hour owing to diversions at the City Square, just above which sits the High Court.

Besigye’s court appearances are characteristically associated with traffic interruption leading to massive delays for motorists.
