Amuriat nominated to contest for presidency

Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | FDC presidential flag bearer Patrick Amuriat has been dully nominated to contest in Uganda’s 2021 elections.

He was earlier on arrested and delivered by police at Kyambogo EC nomination center in barefoot. Amuriat claimed that the police officers removed shoes from his feet, which explains why he appeared for nomination barefooted.

However, Amuriat said this kind of treatment will not deter him from continuing with his campaigns especially now that he has been duly nominated a presidential candidate.

Amuriat in his manifesto has vowed the continuation of the defiance campaign that was started by his predecessor, Dr. Kizza Besigye with the aim of unseating president Yoweri Museveni.

He also said that he intends to lead a campaign aimed at establishing a presidency that will rejuvenate the status of low-income earners.
