Gulu, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Acholi Province will battle West Nile in their return leg of the semifinal of the FUFA DRUM tournament later this evening without five key players. The players are Walter Ochora of BUL FC, Hillary Onek of BUL FC, Fred Agandu of SC Villa, Simon Oryem of SC Villa, and Derrick Ocan of KCCA FC.

Acholi Province officials say that they summoned the players for their encounter at Pece War Memorial Stadium in Gulu City but their clubs refused to release them. Simon Kakaum, the Acholi Province Media Officer says that their efforts to engage the different club managements to release the players didnt yield results.

Acholi Province needs at least two goals to qualify for the finals of the tournament. Acholi Province, which is the defending champion of the FUFA DRUM tournament, lost 0-1 in the first leg of the semifinal played in Arua City last month.

The team captain Denis Okot and Head Coach Geoffrey Akena are hopeful that they will win the match since they have well-experienced players.
