Unknown assailants hack Kakumiro man to death

Kakumiro, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Unknown assailants have hacked to death a 62-year-old man in Kakumiro district. The deceased has been identified as Damesen Rudakoma, a resident of Kyarukoka village, Kikwaya parish in Kikwaya sub-county. Rudakoma met his death at the hands of the assailants who raided the village on Sunday night.

The assailants hacked the deceased on the head, chest, and neck and dumped his lifeless body near Kyarukoka trading center. The area LCI chairperson, John Byamukama told Uganda Radio Network in an interview that residents were shocked to find the deceased on Monday morning and immediately alerted the police.

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson says that detectives have commenced inquiries into the matter.

In a related development, Kagadi police are holding 18-year-old Stephen Mugisha, a resident of Karambi LCI in Kamusegu parish, Bwikara sub-county for allegedly stabbing his colleague to death. The deceased is John Sunday, 30, a resident of the area.

It is reported that the duo picked a quarrel on Sunday night over unknown reasons. it is alleged that Mugisha, who was armed with a sharp knife stabbed Sunday in the chest killing him instantly.

He tried to escape from the crime scene but was pursued by area residents who arrested him and handed him over to police. Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson says the suspect is locked up at Kagadi central police station on murder charges.
