Bukwo, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Two people have been arrested in connection to the death of a 70-year-old woman in Bukwo district. The suspects Hosea Kibet, 21, and Alex Murine, 35, were arrested on Thursday by a joint security team comprising the police and the army.
Rose Chemokony was killed on Wednesday night in Poshia village, Mutushet parish. She was killed inside her house using machetes.
The suspects were arrested in a hideout in Posha village, Mutishet sub county. Kayondo Amisi, the District Police Commander confirmed the arrest of the suspects.
“We are finalizing our comprehensive investigations, which will allow us to present the suspects to the courts of law,” Kayondo said.
He says that the suspects allegedly warned Chemokony to desist from witchcraft.
