Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Steel & Tube Industries Ltd has won two awards at the 32nd Uganda International Trade Fair (UGITF) 2026, organised by the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA).
The company was named Best Sector Exhibitor in Building, Construction and Housing Technology and received an Appreciation Award for its in-kind partnership with the organisers of the annual trade fair.
The exhibitor award recognised the company’s participation in the building and construction category, while the appreciation award acknowledged its contribution as an in-kind partner of the event.
Regina Namuwonge, director of operations at Steel & Tube Industries Ltd, said the company’s approach during the 10-day fair was centred on offering customers affordable products.
“You buy from the people who make and distribute the goods at the most affordable price,” Namuwonge said.
“Every offer, every discount, is priced for the Ugandans who consume.”
She also acknowledged the institutions and partners involved in organising the fair, noting that the event depends on contributions from different stakeholders.

“A trade fair of this size is carried by many hands,” she said.
“There are many players in this trade fair, and we thank the various ministerial bodies and agencies who support us behind it. With that, I would like to thank our partners and sponsors”.
The Uganda International Trade Fair is an annual event organised by UMA to bring together manufacturers, traders, service providers and buyers from Uganda and other countries to showcase products, explore business opportunities and establish commercial partnerships.
Steel & Tube thanked UMA for the recognition, as well as its customers, partners and staff for their continued support.
