The annual International Hospital Kampala (IHK) initiative, The Hope Ward Run, is set for Nov. 16, according to a notice signed by the event organisers. Participants will set off at Kololo Airstrip to places that will be made known later.

The Hope Ward Run is the International Medical Group corporate social responsibility project that was initiated in 2006 to raise funds and resources to render medical services in the pediatrics, general wards among others. It is run under the International Medical Fund (IMF). The initiative aims at offering complex treatment and surgery services to people who are unable to afford it due to financial constraints.

Dr Ian Clarke, the chairman of the International Medical Group said that over the past eight years initiative has supported over 1,000 people. “This support has continued to save lives and given hope to many people,” he said. Registration for those wanting to participate is ongoing at IHK hospital, International Medical Clinics, Park Royal, Kitgum House, Kololo, Entebbe, Lubowa and International Diagnostic Centre located along Yusuf Lule Road. For ordinary participants they will have to pay Shs 20,000 while corporate participants will pay between Shs 500, 000 and Shs 1 million.
