Kasese, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | The Omusinga Rwenzururu Cultural Institution Charles Wesley Mumbere Iremangoma has reshuffled his cabinet.

In the changes, he has dropped and replaced nine of his cabinet ministers.

Benson Kule Baritazale is the new Deputy Prime Minister replacing Edwin Bayiringa Kugonza who has held the position for six months.

Deputy Attorney General David Bwamable has also been retired and replaced by Herbert Bagheni.

John Thawite and Joel Kaguta have also been replaced by Geoffrey Kanyonyi and Babra Ndahura as the Kingdom information and public relations officers respectively.

The reshuffle comes barely six months after Mumbere was freed to return to his Kingdom, after the 2016 military raid on his royal palace.

In his address, the Omusinga hailed President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for restoring peace and stability in the Rwenzori sub-region.

He tasked the new cabinet to cooperate with the Central Government in an attempt to maintain the already established peace for socio-economic transformation.

The Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Joseph Kule Muranga,  pledged allegiance to the King, the Royal family, and the institution Constitution to promote the culture of Bakhonzo.
