Nakawa magistrate Napiyo charged with corruption

A grade two magistrate attached to Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s Court Agnes Napiyo has been charged  before the Anti-Corruption Court with  two counts of corruption  and abuse of office.

Napiyo appeared before  grade one magistrate Patricia Amoko and denied the allegation.

Court heard  that between March 2, 2017 and April , 2017 at Nakawa Chief Magistrates Court,  Napiyo corruptly solicited for  sh1 million  and received sh700,000 from a one Vincent Amam Egesa as an inducement to reverse a child custody ruling in his favor.

Napiyo has been granted bail of sh500,000 cash and ordered to return to court on  April 27, 2017 for mention of the case. According to State Attorney Micah Luteete investigations in this case are still on going.
