AFCON: It is the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon

FULL TIME: Egypt 1 Cameroon 2

Libreville, Gabon | AFP |

Vincent Aboubakar scored the winner as Cameroon came from behind to beat Egypt 2-1 in the Africa Cup of Nations final on Sunday.

Aboubakar’s brilliant finish with two minutes left came just as extra time seemed a certainty at the Stade de l’Amitie in Libreville, Gabon.

Mohamed Elneny had given Egypt the lead midway through the first half but Nicolas Nkoulou equalised just before the hour mark prior to Aboubakar’s winner.

It is the fifth time Cameroon have won the Cup of Nations and first since 2002.

Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny returns after injury to start for Egypt in Sunday’s Africa Cup of Nations final against Cameroon in Libreville, Gabon.

Meanwhile, the Greek-based midfielder Amr Warda starts for the first time at the tournament, while centre-back Ahmed Hegazy has shaken off an injury in time to line up in defence.

Cameroon coach Hugo Broos sticks with the same starting line-up as in Thursday’s 2-0 semi-final win against Ghana.
