Rubaga South MP Paul Kato Lubwama has asked the High Court to dismiss with costs an application filed by a voter seeking to throw him out of parliament. The voter is asking court to allow him file an election petition.

Kato Lubwama through his lawyers Nalukoola, Kakeeto advocates contends that petitioner Habib Buweembo’s application doesn’t fulfill the necessary requirements needed for court to grant him permission to file an election petition.

Justice Margret Oguli has fixed Monday October 31, 2016 to hear Buwembo’s application.

Lubwama, a DP leaning independent MP, says that Buwembo does not even state the reasons why he never investigated and filed the petition against him within the stipulated time frame after being gazetted as MP Rubaga South.

Kato Lubwama however maintains he has a Diploma in Music Dance and Drama attained from  Makerere University.

Buwembo insists the High Court should hear him out over MP Kato Lubwama’s O ‘ level  certificate which is a basis of joining  A’level – the minimum  required  academic qualiication of an MP.
