Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police spokesperson told Uganda Radio Network on Monday that detectives from Masindi central police station rushed to the school after the girl’s father opened a defilement case against the headteacher. The matron informed the administration, which also notified the minor’s father. Hakiza explains that upon interrogation by police, the minor confessed that she has severally been defiled by her headteacher. Police subjected the girl to a medical examination, which confirmed she had been defiled.

The victim’s father says that upon interrogations, his daughter revealed that the suspect forced her into sexual intercourse.

“My daughter told me that since June the headteacher has been forcing her into sexual intercourse. He would send my daughter into his room and then defile her from there,” he said.
