DP calls for joint hand with CSOs on corruption

By Aloysious Kasoma

Democratic Party (DP) has today called upon Ugandans and political parties to join hands and fight corruption that has affected the country.

“I call upon all Ugandans and political parties that corruption does not affect only Bishop Niringiye but the health and public service sectors are dead” said the acting DP Publicity Secretary Kenneth Paul Kakande during their weekly press conference

DP commended the Civil Society Organization’s activities on what they called Black Monday in their fight against corruption.

He said that president Museveni is fighting individuals who are against corruption an indicator that there is no will from the executive to curb the vice.

Anti corruption crusaders had this Monday embarked on free distribution of flyers to city residents but were blocked by police.

Authur Larok, the Action Aid International Uganda chapter and Lenard Okello were arrested and detained at Jinja road police station as they gave out the flyers at the Jinja road traffic lights.

While former Assistant Bishop of Kampala, Dr Zac Niringye who stationed at Kamwokya market wasn’t arrested. The anti corruption crusaders late last year launched Black Monday which is observed every Monday.
