THIS WEEK: Sudhir defends self before land probe over kololo land

Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | City mogul Sudhir Ruparelia appeared before Lady Justice Catherine Bamugemereire led land commission of inquiry on Feb.08 to defend himself over an allegation that he has grabbed land belonging to Kololo senior secondary school.

Sudhir told the commission that the said land was allocated to him by Uganda land commission at the time when it was chaired by the late Joash Mayanja Nkangi.

He said on this land which was used by the school as a playground, he intends to establish a state of the art sports facility that can be used both by Kololo and his Kampala Parents school. He also dispelled an allegation that the land had been divided into plots and allocated to various people to develop businesses. But, Kololo school management had revealed to the commission that they had been barred from using the land something that has caused them to decline in terms of co-curricular sports activities.

However, Sudhir got lease of the land for ninety nine years.
