The Uganda police and prisons officers on Friday sent 476 participants to take part in firefighting course for 12 weeks at Prisons Staff College in Luzira.

The course which is aimed at enhancing capacity in fire fighting was officially launched by the Director Special Forces Andrew Sorowen.

He said “You must be disciplined, if you break the law you will be dismissed from the Force, discipline is paramount in Forces.

Sorowen called upon the participants to be disciplined and fulfill their mandate as enshrined in the Constitution.

The Commandant Prisons Training School, ACP Tumwebaze advised students to learn and not to just go and admire Luzira just like tourists.

Although this is the first time police and prisons are training in firefighting together, the Police Fire Brigade plans to open 20 new fire stations in the Country this year.
