Ugandan musicians and amateur bands will have a chance to  perform and showcase their work  at shown at the Asian Beat Band Competition in Tokyo.

Talent Africa has teamed up with SELAK Uganda Ltd to organise a competition, where the best local band will win an all-expense paid trip to Japan to showcase at the 2016 Asian Beat Band Competition in November. Asian Beat is one of the biggest amateur band contests held throughout many regions in Asia.

According to the organisers of the Yamaha E-Band Competition in Uganda, bands are encouraged to register for the competition at Radiant House in Kampala before Saturday August 27 for a chance to record for free in Kampala and go on to shine on the international stage. Bands must be amateurs with no record contract and no more than 6 members.

“This competition is meant to facilitate talent development, as well as motivate and inspire young musicians to do their best and scale to an international level,” said Meron Agaba, the General Manager of SELAK Uganda.  There will be free recording sessions for various bands for submission into the competition.

SELAK, who are the official distributer of Yamaha products in Uganda, will award the winning band Yamaha music products. There will also be individual prizes for the best guitarist, bassist, keyboardist, drummer and vocalist.
