Kyambadde hits back, says no elections for Chamber of Commerce

Minister Kyambadde issued a new statement on Thursday, a day after Olive Kigongo said she would defy her directive.
Trade, Industry and Cooperatives minister Amelia Kyambadde maintains elections of Uganda National Chamber of Commerce (UNCC ) will not take place this month because of “national security threats”. She has issued a new statement confirming the cancellation.
This follows a press briefing in which UNCC head Olive Kigongo said the elections will go on as planned.
Chamber President Kigongo says that in doing so, they are exercising the mandate in their constitution.
