Minister Dr. Stephen Malinga dead at 69

The Minister Of Disaster Preparedness, Dr Stephen Malinga died last night after collapsing at his home in Palissa District.

He was rushed to a near by Health Centre where medics pronounced him dead. Medics at the Health Centre suspect Malinga may have died from a heart attack.

Malinga was the Member of Parliament for Butembo County in Palissa. He also formerly served as the Minister of Health from 2006 – 2011 before he was later appointed as Minister of Disaster Preparedness in May 2011

Dr. Malinga held a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery MBChB degree from Makerere University

Between 1973 and 1977, he served as a Consultant at Cook County Hospital, Chicago, Illinois, United States of America. From 1978 until 1985, he served as the Chairperson, in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Jackson Park Hospital, Chicago, Illinois, USA.

He then served as a consultant at Ingalls Memorial Hospital, in Harvey, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. In 1996, Dr. Mallinga returned to Uganda where he began his political career.

    I am shocked. eeeeeee. banange this was too early for our minster. but some times the choice is beyond human hand. there was no time even to see a physician just a health centre’s care. may you rest in eternal peace Malinga.
