NRM loses another by-election

By Agather Atuhaire

The National Resistance Movement party’s by election nightmare is far from over as they lose their 8th by election in Kasese.

The opposition chief whip Winnie Kiiza whose victory was annulled by court sometime in June beat NRM’s Rehema Muhindo to retain her Kasese woman MP seat. Amidst heavy deployment and massive arrest, FDC was still able to win the seat with margin 40,000 votes.

NRM has won only one by election- the Busiro north seat which was retained by former Vice President Gilbert Bukenya which is also attributed to his fall out with party bigwigs.

So far, the country has witnessed 8 by elections with two of Jinja woman MP and Butambala County still pending.

this should tel the ruling party that new strategies should be thouht of orther wise there time could be clocking to to say enuph is enouph,,

  3. Eugene Richard Bogere says:

surely this is yet another lesson that wont be learnt. People have simply communicated their will at least let it be respected. Unfortunately the NRM party leader isn’t heeding to the realities on the ground lest he wouldn’t have engaged in losing battles. this puts his vision in question.

  4. Tugume Moses says:

There is nothing to wonder about Kasese and the NRM party, their days are numbered. It’s movement, moving and shall be moved. Movement people are based on a mind of one man who claims to be the only one with a vision for Uganda, and they also stupidly believe they have no vision. What a shame! And the man himself is not ashamed, of the 30 years he has ruled the nation, has failed to groom a successor. Now, him and ugandans who has no vision? FDC members stand firm time will tell.
