E-mail Print PDF

(L-R) Kirunda Kivejinja, Hajji Ntege Ssebagala and Alintuma NsambuPresident Yoweri Museveni has made sweeping changes in his envoys and special presidential advisors appointing former Kampala Mayor Nasser Ntegge Sebagala as his Senior Presidential Advisor General duties and Kirunda Kivejinja for Veteran Affairs.

In a statement released by deputy presidential press secretary Linda Nabusayi,  Alintuma Nsambu who recently lost the Bukoto South parliamentary elections is new Asmara envoy. Kintu Nyago will deputise former state minister for health, Dr.Richard Nduhura who will head the New York mission.

Former Principal Private Secretary to the president, Grace Akello has also been posted to head the Rome mission. She was replaced by Mary Amajo. The President has also appointed Andrew Munanura Karokora as the new Deputy Inspector General of Government (IGG).

The latest appointments come at the heels of a cabinet reshuffle that attracted a backlash from the public. Many including the leader of opposition Nandala Mafabi described it mainly as a “recycle” of old loyalists with questionable records.

The new cabinet saw former Disaster Preparedness Minister, Prof. Tarsis Kabwegyere, bounce back to head the Gender ministry, Frank Tumwebaze, the Kibale County MP become Minister In-charge of the Presidency a docket previously held by Kabakumba Masiko who resigned over illegal use of Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) equipment.

The President also appointed Sam Kutesa, John Nasasira and Mwesigwa Rukutana who had stepped aside over corruption charges to head the Foreign Affairs ministry and General Duties under the Prime Minister’s office.

In short, Nasasira replaced Khiddu Makubuya and Tarsis Kabwegere Syda Bbumba. The two were fired over the Shs.142 billion controversial compenasation to city tycoon Hassan Basajjabalaba.

Yes, Aine, it is a country that has gone mad. How, on earth, can one man be allowed to blatantly abuse the nation's funds? Surely, Uganda must be the worst governed country on earth. I suppose that is the price the country pays when it allows itself to be governed by a regime who care less about citizens. Such regimes will constantly increase the 'passengers' on the 'gravy train' so as to ensure its survival ... how sad!!!!!!

Has the president grown old or the country is running mad! can someone tell me, which affairs in Rukungiri that would require a presidential adviser? I believe soon or later the ministerial cabinet shall rise by the minister in charge of Rukungiri affairs! What a crazy country, crazy leaders with no vision for the last man in the country. Fellow Ugandans, stand up and fight for our nation.
