Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) council members have today asked the Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago to call a special council meeting in the next 14 days to address what they have call a wrong procedure he uses to send out information to the public without their consent.
Council members say they get to know of issues happening at the authority through the media which is wrong. In the meeting they also talked about the attitude of the mayor towards the work that is done by the KCCA and also their implementations.
Bernard Luyiga the Spokesperson of KCCA accuses the lord mayor of stopping taxi owners to pay the taxi fee that was put up by the KCCA and also being against the operation of the pioneer buses in the city.
The KCCA matters are not dictatorial matters the council believes that there could be a political problem and the council members are planning on putting up a motion on a disciplinary committee on the way in which the mayor conducts himself.
Councilor Kruhan Byaruhanga the Kyambogo representative asked the Mayor to be censored and also to resign if he cannot sustain his position and also carry out the work that is expected of him by the people of Kampala. The mayor has already been asked to call a meeting and address these issues but he has not responded and another has been written today. “Kampala people should get the kind of leadership that deserve,” said the councilor. He also emphasized that they did not get voted to fight wars within but to fight for the people of Kampala.
